Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.
This is the second phase to the NRA Basic Pistol Class. Phase one is a prerequisite to this class and must be complete before attending. This second Phase is at least 5 hours long and includes additional classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will perform a qualification at the end of this class and receive course completion certificate upon completing the qualification.
This course qualifies for AZ CCW. Fingerprinting and CCW Paperwork will be provided with this class
Prerequisites:
You must sign up for the NRA online portion of this course, complete the online training, print the completion certificate, and bring it to class. The NRA is currently charging $60 for the Phase I portion of this class. This online class is a self-paced course and you must have a passing grade of 90% or better to attend Phase II. You will have 4 chances to pass the exam. There are no refunds for failed exams and the phase II portion of the class cannot be rescheduled. Please allow at least 8 hours to take this training. Many will complete this faster, but we do not want you to miss Phase II training due to incomplete training on Phase I.
